Key Advantages of Aluminium and Stainless-Steel Full Contact Internal Floating Roofs versus Steel Floating Roofs:

  • Allow more tank capacity, increasing cost efficiency
  • Positive flotation, to ensure continued operation during in-service periods
  • Faster turnaround from delivery to installation, significantly reducing downtime
  • Optimum ability to handle most tank shell irregularities, reducing the risk of system seizure during operation

TankTechnic Full Contact Internal Floating Roof Structure

The Full Contact Internal Floating Roof is a structure consisting of connected modules in full contact with the liquid surface. This eliminates vapour escape resulting in emission reductions of  approximately 97% in small diameter tanks, and up to or above 99% for large diameter tanks

The flat surface panels are installed in a supporting grid made up of extrusion profiles.  Here, the edges are overlapped and clamped in leak resistant metal-to-metal joints

TankTechnic Full Contact Internal Floating Roof Support Options

When assembled, the Internal Floating Roofs can be supported either by fixed or adjustable legs, or by a chain or cable suspension system. In either instance, the supports are located between the pontoon connector sections and the perimeter.
