Tank Technic Internal Floating Roofs are custom designed to each individual tank in accordance with API 650 Appendix H. Developed in-house, we utilise the latest technology to deliver the most efficient roof system for your storage tanks – our products regularly exceed performance requirements and design standards.
Tank Technic’s standard Internal Floating Roofs are  compatible with most petroleum industry products, once fitted with the relevant seals. For more demanding media, including Methanol or Ethanol, our Stainless-Steel Pontoon Internal Floating Roof, and Hybrid Pontoon Internal Floating Roof (utilising Stainless Steel Wetted Parts) solutions are also available.

Hybrid Internal Floating Roofs are also available as a cost effective solution for smaller diameter tanks.  These minimise the breadth of tank modification required to install the roof.

Key Advantages of Aluminium, Hybrid and Stainless-Steel Skin & Pontoon Internal Floating Roofs versus Steel Floating Roofs:
• Allow more tank capacity, increasing cost efficiency
• Simple introduction of roof components via 20″ manhole, minimising downtime and subsequent implementation costs
• Positive flotation, to ensure continued operation during in-service periods
• Faster turnaround from delivery to installation, significantly reducing downtime
• Optimum ability to handle most tank shell irregularities, reducing the risk of system seizure during operation

Tank Technic Skin & Pontoon Internal Floating Roof Structure
The pontoon Internal Floating Roof is a structure consisting of a series of interconnected hollow tubular pontoons surfaced with metal sheets.
The surface tubular pontoons are laid out on a supporting grid work of extrusions with the edges overlapped and clamped in vapour-tight metal-to-metal joints connected by straps and fasteners.

Tank Technic Skin & Pontoon Internal Floating Roof Support Options
When assembled, the Internal Floating Roofs can be supported either by fixed or adjustable legs, or by a chain or cable suspension system. In either instance, the supports are located between the pontoon connector sections and the perimeter.

Fitted floating roof peripheral fitted rim seals
The most widely used Tank Technic Floating Roof Rim Seals include:

• TT-1/350 Primary Mechanical Shoe Seal
• TT-7/350 Primary Foam Filled Seal
• TT-60 Primary XPE Wiper Seal
• TT-70 Secondary XPE Wiper Seal
